A comprehensive examination includes x-rays (if needed), dental and periodontal charting, digital photographs for legal and medical records, and an impression for a mouth study model. You will be informed of the clinical findings and the recommended dental treatment at the time of the initial appointment, unless your needs are complex enough that a second, follow up consult would be indicated. This would ensure that the most complete and accurate diagnosis and treatment plan would be appropriately designed to meet your needs.
A professional cleaning procedure is usually provided at the initial visit. If subsequent gum treatment is needed, we will make you aware at the time of your initial visit.
Subsequent dental visits for treatments will be scheduled before you leave the office.
Our staff is highly trained, and will make certain that you understand all aspects of your treatment, as well as your financial responsibility. We can help with insurance questions.
Cancellation of appointment: We request 48 hour advance notice when you are unable to keep the time reserved for you. This allows us to offer the time to other patients for their treatment.
Fee and financial policies: Our fees are based on our expertise, service, time and operating costs. We ask that you pay for treatment when services are rendered. A dental health benefit is a contract between the insurer and the insured. Therefore, the patient is responsible for full payment at the time of treatment, as well as charges not covered by his/her insurance policy.
We will assist you in filling out the insurance claims for your reimbursement from your insurance company, and we are happy to submit these as a service to you and will do everything we can to ensure you receive the maximum benefit to which you are entitled. The payment that you receive from your insurance company depends on the terms of the contract that you have with the company.
Our office accepts personal checks, cash payments, and MasterCard and Visa. If you have questions regarding our fees, or alternative payment methods, please ask our staff. They are happy to assist you.
The exceptions are our Delta Dental and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Massachusetts (Dental Blue) patients who will be required to pay their remaining balance after our office receives the insurance payment.
