Cosmetic and Restorative Procedures:

Welcome to Sudbury Family & Cosmetic Dental CenterPorcelain Veneer: Veneers are the most conservative technique to restore and enhance the esthetics and function of front teeth. They can be used to brighten color, and to close spaces. In select cases, they can be used to straighten crooked teeth, resulting in instant orthodontics. Porcelain veneers are a way of achieving a very desirable smile.

Tooth-Colored-Restorations: Resin and porcelain are non-metal, mercury-free, tooth colored materials used to repair function and natural appearance of front and back teeth.

Porcelain Crown and Bridge:  Porcelain crown and bridge are conventional restorations used to restore fractured or missing teeth when other options are not suitable.

Dental Implants: Dental implants are a superior technique for replacement of missing teeth. Function and esthetics of the natural dentition are achieved with implant-supported prosthesis, which provides patients long-term comfort and stability.

Micro-Abrasion: Micro-abrasion uses micron-sized particles to remove enamel defects. Tooth-colored material can then be placed to restore the tooth to a natural appearance. In some cases, if there is early decay, this technique may be used without the need for local anesthesia or the drill.

Hard and soft tissue laser: Erbrium: YAG wavelength laser is used to treat tooth decay in selective restorative procedures, also is used in esthetic gum surgery, removal of oral pathological lesions, biopsy, treating canker sore. In many cases, a need of local anesthetic injection is eliminated or reduced to minimum.

Tooth Whitening: A variety of techniques are available. We will discuss with you the one that is most suitable for your needs. Our in-office bleaching is available and provides an instantly natural whitening result at an affordable cost.

Reconstructed Prosthetics: Fixed partial or full mouth reconstructed prosthesis restores multiple missing teeth.

Partial and Complete Removable Dentures:  Dentures are alternative treatments to replacement of multiple missing teeth.

Oral cancer screenings are provided with every exam.

Blood pressure screening is provided with every exam as a service to you.

Oral hygiene instruction is an important component of every professional cleaning visit.

Topical Fluoride: Research clearly demonstrates that topical fluoride prevents dental decay and treats tooth sensitivity for children and adults.

Sealants: This is a clear or colored- material applied to the pits and fissures of back teeth to prevent dental caries.

Cavity-detecting laser: The laser is used to detect early or hidden caries under existing restorations. It frequently detects early lesions, (even before x-rays), preventing progression of decay that could result in sensitivity and/or pain in the tooth.

Sports guard: This can be worn by athletes to protect teeth from fractures as a result of sports accidents.

Night guard / Splint appliance: This device can be fabricated to protect teeth from a clenching/ grinding habit. Teeth that are already worn or fractured are protected from further damage. It is also the initial therapy to treat temporomandibular joint or TMJ disorder.

Periodontal Therapy:

Screening and monitoring of gum disease are included in continuing care visits

Scaling and Root Planning: is a non-surgical treatment. This is a conservative way of treating gum disease in early stages at Dr. Chau’s office. Excellent results are frequently achieved, eliminating the need for the patient to see a gum specialist.

Adjunct therapy: Local antibiotics and / or the laser may also be used to enhance the results of scaling and root planning.

Diode soft tissue laser: The laser is used to reshape gum tissue to improve esthetic and remove diseased soft tissue. It is also used to expose impacted permanent teeth to facilitate eruption or orthodontic treatment. It provides a pain relief to aphthous ulcers (canker sores).

Latest diagnostic technology:

Digital radiography: This system for taking x-rays provides much less radiation, with an instantaneous, accurate, diagnostic result. It is used to detect dental decay, evaluate alveolar bone, and diagnose oral pathology.

Cavity-detecting laser before need of x-rays.

Cosmetic digital imaging: The computerized simulating images what your treatment results will be before you begin.
